The Rotary Club of Lincoln and town of Lincoln are pleased and proud to take the lead in organizing the Sunset Music Series at The Rotary Shell located in picturesque, lakeside Charles Daley Park, 1969 North Service Road, Jordan, Ontario. Each summer, weekly concerts are held every Tuesday evening, 7:00pm – 8:30pm, from the beginning of July to the end of August. Everyone is invited to attend these concerts FREE of CHARGE.

The Sunset Music Series is geared to the musical tastes of people of all ages. From jazz to rock and pop, to country and more, each concert features a unique theme. For audience members who are more comfortable listening to our concerts in their vehicles, car radios in the Charles Daley parking lot receive the evening’s program broadcast live through an in-park FM radio transmitter. Food vendors are at the park beginning at 5:30pm and throughout each concert.

Charles Daley Park is owned and operated by the Town of Lincoln. It is open to the public throughout the year with many amenities including an extensive trail system, beaches, picnic areas, and children’s playground.

The Rotary Shell, a permanent outdoor performance centre at Charles Daley Park, was dedicated on July 1, 2009 during the Town of Lincoln’s Canada Day celebrations. Initiated as a result of the resounding success of the Rotary Club of Lincoln’s annual Lamplighter Tour production, The Rotary Shell is a joint project of the Rotary Club of Lincoln and the Town of Lincoln. The Rotary Club of Lincoln’s contribution of $165,000 prompted this capital project to build on the initiative of the Friends of Charles Daley Park to revitalize and promote Charles Daley Park.

The Friends of Charles Daley Park, with the help of the community, built a boardwalk along the waterfront portion of the central section of the park. In cooperation with the Niagara Restoration Council, native trees and shrubs have been planted throughout the park. In addition, more than 30 commemorative benches have been installed throughout the park. In September 2009, the Friends, with the support of the Kool-Aid "Let Them Be Kids" award program, the Town of Lincoln and many generous community businesses and individuals, built the spectacular Ralph Reid Children’s Playground.

The Sunset Music Series is a significant community project supported by a host of Town of Lincoln organizations, businesses, and volunteers, including Note for Note Professional Music Productions; DC Grafix; Action Print, A Division of Commercial Digital Print Inc; Butterballs Restaurant; Lincoln Concert Band; Royal Canadian Air Cadets 62 Phantom Squadron Grimsby; etc. Many businesses in the local area have generously contributed financial sponsorships to offset operating costs since the annual concert series was launched in 2010 with a one-time project grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.

The Sunset Music Series is a very exciting addition to Niagara’s arts and culture scene.

The Rotary Shell at Charles Daley Park has become ‘the place to be’ on Tuesday evenings each summer as families gather to enjoy great music, food, camaraderie, and spectacular sunsets.
